Silicone Mask Making Part 1: Epoxy Course Questions

During the course Mike uses different materials to make the epoxy shell for the mask. But got a little confused as to why each one is to be used. Below is what I know and some of which I have questions
  1. - EpoxACoat - this is used for a detail layer?
  2. - Nails in mouth - why do this? I know it's from experience but what happens if this is not done?
  3. - Urefil - to build a dam, I think i understand this. I am just not sure what the fill inside is for.
  4. - EpoxACast 650 - what is this for?
  5. - EpoxAmite 300 - what is different than the others
  6. - Freeform Air?
  7. - Habitat black epoxy putty?
How did you come about this process?

EpoxACoat is designed to be your first layer, so it becomes the inner surface of your mold.  It captures detail and is durable enough to hold up to running many castings.
Urefil is a thickening additive for resins that can
EpoxACast is a clear casting resin
EpoxAmite is an epoxy resin system designed for laminating.
Freeform Air is a lightweight two-part epoxy dough that is often used to build up structure or fill in areas.
Habitat is another two-part epoxy dough, but it has different properties.

    Hope that helps!
