Latex mask making in 3d printed non porous mold

Just wondering if you guys have any tips for latex mask making in 3d printed non porous molds. Like how many layers of latex to put in before I demold, I only have a negative mold. I also think I could make a foam filled latex positive, (a plug I heard it is called), and create a plaster mold off that. The mask I am making is a half mask, I will attach hair too. I am making a copy, of a Mitzi Mozzarella mask, from the animatronic show the rock a fire explosion, any tips would be helpful.

  • With a printed mold you will want to paint layers of latex in one at a time, rather than dwelling like you would in a stone mold.  How many layers you paint depends on how strong/heavy/flexible you want the mask to be.
