Terror Dogs

The terror dog was sculpted by Jesse Melchior, and Joshua Feo from REELMAGIK. We used approximately 450lbs of wed clay for the sculpt. We then molded the dog using silicone with an epoxy/fiberglass shell. The dogs were cast with a urethane skin, followed by a soft polyfoam with a harder polyfoam core to add structure. They were painted with a flexible acrylic paint base, and layers of acrylic inks were applied to add depth. The eyes were made using clear acrylic spheres, with an LED bulb and battery pack hidden in the back foot. The eyes were inserted during the casting process. The teeth, horns and nails were sculpted separately in oil clay, cast in dental acrylic and urethane, and painted with acrylic inks.
