Krampus (Based on 2015 film "Krampus" by Michael Dougherty.)

I'm excited to Share my Krampus build!
As a cosplayer on a budget, I do my best to make effective builds at minimal cost and Krampus was a dream build of mine as I've been a huge fan of the film! I absolutely love horror and love doing horror costumes. So I wanted to do the best I could to represent this version of Krampus.

Krampus is a mixed media build (foam, latex, wood, fabric, etc.) approximately cost me 350 to build mostly due to the use of genuine velvet. The rest of the materials I had utilized from prior projects and scrap in order to keep it on the cheaper end.

Since I tend to build everything myself, I end up modeling the costumes as well.

Nearly everthing was handmade and created from scratch.

-The mask made using a cheap store mask for a basis, then built up with foam clay (preset dental caps prior to drying), latex-dipped and painted with monster maker latex/paints. Bread is created from Kanekalon braid which I shaded using eyeshadow and set/mangled with hairspray.

-The hands were created from a glove I modified with finger extentions. I covered those in nylon and brush on latex to create the skin layer (while wearing them!) Used string to create the veins and handpainted in monster maker latex/paints. Nails were Sculpted from worbla.

-The horns were created from scrap insolation foam. I cut small circles to create the ring effect and glued them together. Used Hot glue to create the ridges and added 3 layers of wood glue. Sprayed it in plastidip and hand painted w/acrylics with a matte finish.

-The back prosthetic is simply thick eva foam and expanding foam to create the spine. (Spine reinforced with wonderflex)

-The robe is hapazardly cut velvet, that I patchworked together, forming it around the back piece. I distressed the robe with dyes and watered down acrylics. Sewed in a fur inner layer and trim which I sprayed white plastidip to give it a frosted look.
-The hooves were the most crucial part as they had to be done right for me to walk in them properly. I took some old high heels, cut off the heel and attached to wooden bases with screws and epoxy. Nylons were added to help keep my feet secure and in place. I covered the wooden bases in eva faom and dremeled the details. Hooves were coated in plastidip and handpainted w/acrylic. Adding mud/dirt with a dirt/tacky glue mixture. The fur I sewed like a hallow tube to make it easily to slide on and off.

-The chains were chandler extentions that I bent around and reconnected in spots. The rusted locks were made from eva foam and hot glue, coated in plastidip painted w/acrylics. I created the rusty patina effect using mud/dirt tacky glue mixture painting it over with acrylics. I also painted all the tiny bells on the robe to make them look older.

-I wanted to give a nod to his minions as well so I 3d printed a gingerbread man (original 3d model print was created by SuperSnail) which I prepped and painted to look like the ones from the movie.
Questions are always welcome! Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!
