Sci-Fi Super Mario - Muscaria Suit
Hi all,
My costume this year is my Sci-Fi Soldier Super Mario. The concept started out as a combination of Metroid and Mario, but it turned into more of a Halo and Mario mashup. I like the idea of it being kind of like a Starship Troopers style universe, and these Muscaria Suits are government issue. The entire fleet winds up being wiped out by the KOOPA invasion, and only 1 ship remains. (Mario, Luigi, and Princess Toadstool on board)

The costume is made out of EVA foam and urethane. I built the EVA foam part out of cardboard first to make the templates, then I transferred them to the foam pieces.
The hammer is EVA foam, wood, and PVC pipe. The suit lights up, has speakers in it for sound, and the engines on the back even smoke!
