The Funguy
A cryptid known to haunt ancient forests, it stands 12-15 feet tall. With a body of living wood it gets its name from the perpetual “smile” on its mushroom like head. Viewed from a distance the Funguy doesn’t seem to move. The few reports of people getting close say it emits a pollin or spore that cause hallucinations very similar to psilocybin. At which point the Funguy moves very rapidly and in some rare cases with deadly consequences. This guy has been on my mind for years and the dream was to make a full sized backpack puppet for Halloween one year. The money for that just hasn’t been there so I thought I’d at least flesh him out with clay. This is the first time I’ve used clay since high school where I’m sure the extent of my creation was an ashtray, yes we still made ashtrays back then in school. It was a fun experience and I look forward to working with clay more in the future.
