Thanks for checking this guy out! I wanted to create an alienated character to explain the “hardships” of teenage life. Barbecue-Bill shows an over exaggeration of the doom of a failed driver’s test! So many kids fear failing this test, and most will ask themselves these questions: What happens if I crash? What if I hit someone? What if my friends make fun of me for failing?!? I wanted to convey these emotions in this comical piece! At the end of the day, a driver’s test isn’t a big deal. But to a teen, failing it is basically the end of the world!
I used lots of techniques bringing this character to life, from sculpting to painting to foam fabricating! I had fun making and mangling his clothes, as well as finding all sorts of junk to turn into "car parts"
