Humantis is an original creation of mine. It was conceived through a combination of insect photo reference consisting of Praying Mantis, spiders, and Coconut Crabs as well as the Bald Face Hornet. This latex mask is assembled of seven molds, six of which are simple injection molds for the antennas and mandibles, the seventh being the main head portion. Sculpted in Monster Clay Medium grade. Took about a week maybe two weeks to sculpt as I was viewing reference as I went along. I developed the design as I seen different species that inspired me.
Inspired by the interesting complex beauty of these creatures. A mad scientist and his experiment gone wrong his gene splitting and slicing endeavors brought forth this insect man monster. HUMANTIS !
