Trying to make a foot mold using body double standard, what would be the best route to go about this? Do I need to keep the toes separate?

    The silicone should work its way between the toes and allow you to capture all the detail.  The first pull from the mold may tear some of the thinner sections away, but you should be good.

    You can brush on the silicone, build up a few layers, and then finish with a layer that has some thickener added to smooth out the form.  While adding the layers you can embed some silicone mold keys to help align the mother mold.  You can make a two-part mother mold using plaster bandages.   You would apply one half first, then add a wax like Johnson's paste wax along the seam where the two halves would overlap, which prevents the two halves from joining up.    The silicone mold (technically a glove mold) would then peel off like a sock.
