HAND PROP FABRICATED OR BUILT FOR A MOVIE IN JERSEY
This is a hand prop for a local super-low-budget (almost nothing at all by Hollywood standards) independent feature film produced for under $80,000.00 (I think that's not even enough to cover the costs of toilet paper at some major studios?) in Jersey with the title of THE STRANGE DARK slated for release soon I think? I built it in the shop at my company's Division, IMAGINATION WORKSHOP STUDIO. I only had time (1 week) and production budget portion ($130.00) (*coughs* again, peanut$) for the hero and not background props or stunt props of various kinds and supplies. I made a gentleman's handshake deal with the Director (which I highly recommend NOT doing unless you are absolutely sure about the trust you have with that person or you act fast on cashing in on your proviso deal made between you both ) to make his prop for almost nothing but a kit fee and with the proviso he connect me with the people he was working with...but that never happened as we fell apart on bad terms. Bummer too because I really was looking forward to a collaboration or working with them on other projects or pictures too, especially Ruth the Production Designer. But It's alright, maybe we still can? But I'm not happy with it, but then again that's alright because the client has only to like it not me. I had originally planned to build the hero which you see pictured, and three background props for stunts. Buuuuutttt...ran into hiccups as almost every effects studio or small shop does and they slowed me down. All in all it was a learning experience.
