The Baron Von Puppet

After following BJ Guyer's series on puppet making, I made this originally designed puppet named, The Baron. This is the second puppet I made. The puppet uses patterned foam for the head and body. The mouth is made of wood and covered in suede leather. The teeth are made from foam board and the clothing is from a ventriloquist doll. I designed an innovative way to attach the head/neck sleeve to the body, using a button technique taught by BJ but I lined the opening around the fleece/foam with cotton-web from a belt. This makes the button attachment more durable. I also made the top hat from scratch from cardboard, leather and fabric. Thanks for viewing.

There's so much character here, especially with those eyes!
  • He was a lot of fun to make. I enjoyed planning the style even down to using Jacquard Dye-Na-Flow paints for the hair. Thanks again!!
