"Evil" Tv Show Jon Harlow Rat Demon Puppet Question

edited July 19 in Puppets

I recently watched the TV series "Evil" on Paramount, and at the end of Season 4, Episode 9, there's a 5-minute video on how the demon creatures were made. Jon Harlow mentions that the rat demon (Demon of Grief) was created in ZBrush and then printed. Behind the scenes, it looks like a moveable puppet rather than a static 3D-printed statue. Does anyone know how this creature was printed? Was it printed in resin and then molded? I'm interested in the techniques used to create it.

  • While I don't have any inside information on how they created this character, there are a few ways they could have printed it.  One way is to print a mold and then cast the character in the mold using a material like silicone.   Another is to print the character in a rigid plastic/resin, clean it up, and then make a mold to cast flexible copies.
