Shark fin tabletop display (Shark Week 2024)

Some of you may be aware i have a taxidermy background so i often try to incorporate realism into my work...this is the process of making a tabletop shark fin display USING a real shark fin...carcass cast from a shark caught legally in Florida...the carcass casting is done in fiberglass over a frozen fin...much like other whole fish castings...this way all the wrinkle and scarring and feathering details are captured..then a fiberglass copy is made so i can sculpt the back of the shark around the fin in clay and then silicone mold it for resin brush-ups
