The crying Banshee
The banshee is an ancient Irish myth. When you hear the banshee cry you know someone will pass away soon.
She is tasked with warning the living and must collect their souls and guide them to the afterlife.
She is seen as a monster but she is an ancestor to the family she is warning. Usually she is conveyed as angry but i wanted to show anguish and sadness in her face. She too is in mourning. You may notice the crying birds , these are magpies. Magpies have long been associated with death in Ireland and the banshee is also said to turn into one.
