Project The Pomegranate, influenced by Eavan Boland’s poem “” and based on Ovid’s Metamorphosis Book V, The rape of Proserpina. Translating to the abduction of Persephone, this story conveys concepts involving the power of strength, love, courage, envy, betrayal and perseverance.
I combined periodical research from the Greek and Roman ages with the stylised influences of Gerald Scarfe’s illustrations along with recognised symbolism of the Olympic Gods.
