Let's go and post that last minute participation!
This is Elegy, part of a duo of masked creatures.
Inspired by gargoyles, green-mans and other strange faces all over old French architecture, this masked duo represents two types of poetry. Elegy, with a flowing veil covering its face leads the dead to a peaceful afterlife.
I used Monster Clay for the original sculpture
Then I casted it in polyurethane resin and painted it with acrylics using an airbrush and regular brushes.
The eyes were painted and casted separately using polyurethane and clear epoxy resin.
