creature makeup for short film ‘Internal consumption’. A woman wakes up in a dark, dirty hospital room, confronted by the physical manifestation of her eating disorder
Using a custom sculpted flat piece to represent skin growing around a long term feeding tube. As well as a wig, gaunt makeup, bruising, hyperpigmentation on the arms and legs and nail and tooth colouring
With the design, we needed to show some of the most destructive and horrific effects of disordered eating, while remaining respectful to sufferers of ED’s, and making sure not to over exaggerate to the point of caricature
Design and prosthetic piece made by me, and makeup applied with the help of the extremely talented Jacob Kunert (@kunert_fx)
