Vacuum chamber suggestions

edited October 2023 in General
I'm making my very first silicone mask this year for Halloween. The only thing I'm short on is a vacuum chamber for degassing.

Should I go 5 gallon to be safe or is smaller a decent option?

Also, what should I look when it comes to the specs of the pump and chamber?

Finally, how necessary is degassing all together?

Thanks

  • 5 gallons is a good size for a vacuum chamber.  You want to leave plenty of room for expansion when putting your materials into the chamber, so being able to fit larger containers is good.

I can't provide much info on pump specs.

Vacuum degassing silicone is not always needed.   It depends on the silicone formula you are using, how you mix it, and your application.
