Creature submission - Ancient Stone Bird

This clay work is inspired by the American reality television game show program Face Off. I wanted to create a fantasy creature with a lot of texture and a strong profile. I combined elements from reptiles, dragons and birds. I used the styrofoam head as base and covered it with WED clay. Thereafter I cut styrofoam to make the shapes for the profile and used metal wire to support some of the connections. After the positions of the styrofoam were established I covered everything with wet clay, except the horns.
