Dental acrylic paint/stain alternative

Hi! I'm about to be ready to cast my orc mask project. I want to use dental acrylic for the teeth, but I can't seem to find the info regarding what to use to paint the teeth.

So I was wondering if I could use thinned acrylic paint and then a clear coat of acrylic to seal it?

Every other options I found were kind of expensive for a first project. So I'm trying to look into cheaper options.

Any good tips?

  • Hi Max,

Thin washes of acrylic paint would be a good option.  There are also a lot of good acrylic options to seal it.  I like liquitex gloss varnish for my projects.

Excited to see how it turns out!

  • What Chris said.  Alcohol colors like Skin Illustrator, etc. are a great choice for painting teeth, but be sure to seal them.  If you're in a hurry and need a local, easy-to-find solution for a sealer, grab some gloss fingernail polish.
