Is there any drawback to using a resin life cast instead of stone?

The life cast I currently have is made of resin, and I was wondering if there are any drawbacks to using that as opposed to one made of ultracal when casting gelatin prosthetics?

  • Resin life casts are usually ideal since they are both durable and lightweight.

Stone can absorb moisture, which can help when working with materials like liquid latex.

Gelatin will cast just fine in resin molds.
