My take on Frankenstein

Had a lot of fun making this costume. Was my first silicone mask sculpted in monster clay along with heart. Happy Halloween

Meet Jackles….this is an OC of mine I bring into the haunt season. He’s a cute little thing…if you can get past the rabies. Watcher of the field, protector of the Hollows, just don’t mess with his doll Timmy and you’ll live to see tomorrow. I made this lovely guy out of wiring, burlap, polymorph plastic, some blood, and liquid latex. It was about a 2 day process. I airbrushed all of the details onto the burlap so it would be more pigmented. The back of the mask is laced up so it ties in similar into lacing a corset. Underneath the burlap I created a prosthetic to lay it on. Mixing flour and latex I molded a prosthetic following the anatomy of a skull so it would sit tight to my facial features. One of my favorite pieces I’ve created to date.

Escaped Psych Patient

My makeup for a haunted trail walk this past weekend. It was a fundraiser for a local skate park. ‘Fresh Stitches’ prosthetic was made by ‘Freakmo FX’ Kiana Jones. I’m currently enrolled in her ‘out of kit’ and ‘applying prosthetics’ courses. I’m looking forward to learning how to make my own prosthetics.

The Mosquitoman

Hi everybody, we are new at Stan Winston and so glad to find this inspiring community! Here is our contribution for the Halloween-contest:

This mosquito was designed and manufactured for some years ago and was the first “monster” I ever did. We got now a new idea at our studio Pisto.no that instead of blood-props it would be more Anthony-Hopkins-type thrilling if we combined a traditional gents suite with a little red handkerchief and the 80`s stripy shoes with the mosquito. Is it a giant mosquito that has attacked a gentleman or is he The Mosquitoman, quietly wondering around – looking for prey?

Material-wise it was a very innovative process, as I that time didn´t know about special materials available: spot the used mesh-stocking on the mosquitos sucking tube and the 2 kitchen colanders on the eyes. There is some mirror Perspex under the colanders to create depth in the look, building foam insulation tube around the eyes and the terminated camping sleeping pad as the main construction. All this is attached on a demolished bicycle helmet. The material on the surface is actually the only thing I had to buy from a local shop. Most parts are patinated with acrylic colors.

that is fantastic!...the encouragement makes all the difference in the world to most of these artists to keep doing these outstanding costume and make up entries...I know I was a Stuntman in the Film Industry 16yrs

Ghost Pirate- Captain Renshaw Dark-Skull

Death Skull Latex Mask from Zagone Studios but I added alot of make up and paint to give it a darker look and to bring out the fine lines in the latex...the Brocade coat I had made...the skeleton Hands again from Zagone Studios...the boots are pieced together...the pirate shirt was bought as well as the pants the pirate sword is real and the the flintlock guns are replicas the neckless is skull gold...the rings on the pinky's are jeweled crossed in red and black...the hat was actually brown repainted it black and added the feather and ploom and small dagger the bandana and dread lock are all one piece...addedthe pirate flag for effect with it's own skeleton attached...the contact are from Samhain black make up around the eyes and all over the mouth...A very good Ghost Pirate in my opinion...his name is Captain Renshaw Dark- Skull
