  • Alclad makes a good clear coat that is designed to protect metallic paints while not having too big an impact on the quality of the metallic effect.  I've used it on a few projects with good results.

  • I use the creatx UV gloss all the time- never an issue with clarity - I have applied it with a brush, HVLP and airbrush, love that stuff. I tend to tint it with the candies but I always do a final clear sealer and never seen any knock on the effect.

To back what Steven said, I've had a ton of success with UVLS from Createx. My buddy Jackson Rupert actually taught me to use them as a chrome sealer. HIGHLY recommend sealing with 2k after you use the UVLS as UVLS is not durable, in my experience, at all, but here's a project I'm currently working on that is sealed with UVLS followed by 2k. Hard to tell in this picture, but it kept it's chrome appearance entirely. I personally like to use Motochrome for my chrome base, as it's typically the most "chrome" you can get (moreso than alumaluster, duralumen. Ultralumen is more chrome but is complicated to use and is very finickey, so I don't recommend it, personally, although the duralumen from the same company is great).
