Priscilla – Awakened Form (Claymore)
This project is a full-body creature build representing Priscilla, the awakened demon form from Claymore. It combines body-suit fabrication, integrated prosthetics, custom armor, and a complete reinterpretation of the character through practical effects.
Concept & Design
My goal was to bring Priscilla to life as a believable creature, something that could exist in the real world, not just an anime. While Claymore has a dark fantasy aesthetic, I aimed for a balance between realism and stylization, designing textures, anatomy, and surfaces as if they were organic yet functional.
Body & Limbs
The full suit was sculpted and cast to mimic muscular tension and the dynamic shapes of transformation. Each arm features extended proportions and a custom internal structure for flexibility and stability during movement. The materials mix flexible latex, foam, and layered fabrics to simulate skin elasticity and sinew.
Armor & Detailing
The armor elements are hand-shaped in thermoplastic and coated for a metallic stone-like finish. The weathering process gives a sense of age and corruption, echoing the demonic nature of the character.
In contrast, the Claymore sword were built with a completely different visual logic realistic and natural, inspired by historical weaponry rather than fantasy design. This contrast underlines the narrative lore, the swords are ancient relics forged from unknown materials on another continent. Differentiating them visually was key to expressing their mysterious origin and importance in the story.
Finishing & Presentation
Every surface was hand-painted using layered airbrush and brushwork techniques to add depth, color gradation, and organic translucency. The final presentation includes cinematic lighting, sound effects, and a staged fight sequence against Teresa to emphasize Priscilla’s monstrous transformation.
This costume was entirely handcrafted from sculpting and mold work to painting and assembly as part of my ongoing exploration of practical effects and wearable creature design.
