Foam Backing to a latex mask when it's in the mold

So I've watched this set of classes numerous times over the years, and there is a bit of info that is passed over as Tim is pulling the latex mask out of the mold. He mentions that since his mask was a little thin from the dwell, he backed it with polyfoam. But its never elaborated on and that foam isn't listed in the class materials. Is this just an A-B foam that he thinly brushed into the mold close to when the latex had dried? When he pulls it out of the mold, that large head definitely keeps it's shape. And I have an oversized mask as well that could use that support. Any idea on what he used and how he applied it? I don't want to fill the whole mask. Just enough to keep the form more rigid to maintain shape.

    I don't know if this is what he uses, but I personally use Smooth-On Flex Foam to fill and back my latex half masks while they're in the mold. It's a flexible mold which helps when pulling them from the mold. 1:1 ratio. I'd suggest starting with a small amount first to see exactly how much it expands, and you can always add more once its cured. hope this helps!

    Polyfoam refers to any number of formulas of 2-part expanding foams.  They come in different densities, which you can pick based on how soft/firm you want the final foam to be.

    In this example, you would brush a thin layer of the foam (after quickly mixing the 2 parts) into the inside of the latex mask while it is still in the mold.
