Subspecies creature puppet sizes

Does anyone know the heights of the actual stop motion puppets used as the subspecies creatures that are animated from Radu’s blood in the Subspecies films.  I’m considering building a rod puppet, like in closeups, but I want to be as aesthetically close to the original puppets as possible.  I know Stan Winston didn’t do the effects, I know David Allen did the puppets, I just can’t find much information.  Thanks for any help!

    Hi John,

    I'm not sure what the puppet scale is, but you may be able to hunt down more information via prop collector websites.  Someone out there may have one of the originals.  Otherwise, you may have to find a shot that includes an item of known scale for reference.  If you can find behind-the-scenes photography that can be a big help.
