Zombie Skeleton Question
Hi ... I'm Gemma and a total newbie. I'm looking to do a zombie cat sculpture out of monster clay, but am unsure how I would go about doing the armature for the ribs/chest area or sculpting the chest area. I would prefer to have the chest cavity empty, i just want to do rotting streched skin over the ribs. Help, suggestions, pointers ... much appreciated.

Hey Gemma, welcome on board ;-)
For realistic effects, its very important to have anatomy reference pics- from books, internet etc.
If i would do a zombie cat, i would collect anatomy pictures from a cat- skeleton and print these pictures at the size i want my cat to become.
Then i would fit an aluminium armature over the picture i choose- from legs over spine to legs and start to sculpt on it.
Here at the Swsca are great classes about sculpting maquettes, which will kick you really forward in your project.

There are a bunch of other great videos about sculpting, but i think these will be the best choice for your current project and any others that will come after.
The tips and tricks you will get can be used at any kind of character- it does not matter if human, animal, robot, insect or what ever.
I really recommend these classes.
This is the way i learned and it helped me a lot. ( I am always afraid like a child, when i tell someone about the Swsca and how much i learned here xD)
Maybe anyone else will have another great tips or recommendations for you.
