"Mermaid"
These "Mermaids" live in darkness deep on a watery world. Without light, they rely on a stereo sonar system to sense their surroundings. Their elaborate 'headdresses' collect soundwaves as well as acting as a sort of audio camouflage, dispersing similar soundwaves from other creatures.
