Re: Waxxed thread/fake sinew screen color matching
@Chris Ellerby I like to put all the what ifs and exceptions on the table when I show a finished shot, so here is the preamble: I took the background from the onscreen pic in Revenant. I also make a hard and fast rule not to alter my costume in photoshop on anything but lighting or filters, like an actual camera. That said, I used a filter to tone my pose and costume to the lighting that was present on the day this onscreen pic was shot (Dicaprio image above from The Revenant).
With all that bla bla out of the way, my leather coloring grease/wax and my custom colored thread, following your instructions in the above convo thread, is here (finally), with more poses to follow in the Cosplay thread section:

PIRAHNA 3D/3DD sculpt..
OK i did drop a hint of starting a fish sculpting. Only thing is i wasn't sure i would be 100% successful at the accuracy of it...(as an artist i can get in my own head and doubt myself to no end)
So here's -a peek after a day of blocking out the general body shape and i think i am going to take Chris's advice of the milk carton thing and cut out fin shapes with that...the clay i am using ( Monster Clay) is a little soft ( medium) and my attempts at making thin gauzy fin skin is failing LOL..
Even though i am going back to my hobby taxidermy roots for this one I want to change it up a bit and put my own spin on it..I personally do not like the tail design from the film

Re: Which resin should I use ?
Hi Chris
Thank you for your answer, I will make some test to see what percentage of stone to add in resin 🙂

Re: Replica skin/body materials???
You can laminate multiple pieces together to thicken/stiffen it, but a single piece from head to tail should be enough. You can think of it like a spine, only as tall as possible without getting too close to the surface on the back or belly.

Re: Must see shops in SoCal?
Answering my own question (!), I ended up visiting Burmans, Frends, and Naimies. After Burmans and Frends, Naimies was a little unnecessary.
Me as a werewolf on Halloween
It was awesome to see the reaction of the trick or treaters on Halloween!!!

Re: PS4 Marvel's Spider-Man - 2099 White Suit
Thank you! This was my first time trying documentation so I hope to get better
Re: Burmans still in business?
I just visited SoCal last week (April 11) and Burman's was indeed open. You enter through the service door in the parking lot. I lost a whole lotta money on my visit!
