I AM GROOT
The mask I made from eva-foam, and other mixed materials. The suit was fabricated and sewn from scratch.
Thanks for checking it out.

Robot Geisha
I was inspired by Weta Workshops Robot Geisha from the movie Ghost In The Shell. I always wanted to make her! Totally hand made from plastic, foam, and bits of anything that was useful and effective for the end result!
All the facial parts can open and close and are fitted with tiny 1mmx1mm magnets that rim the outer lining of the face at specific points where they can connect and hold together when I’m wearing it.
I did try to automate her, and she has some support inside that allows for cables to connect to the outer face shell so it can be pulled shut. However getting it to open automatically again was challenging and required another whole plan.
It was like a puzzle for each step of the way, but it was really fun!
I used many tools to melt, cut, carve and glue things together! I hope you like it, and I hope it does a little justice to Weta Workshops incredible artwork!!

All work and no play....
Products used: Diamond FX, Mehron, and Kryolan Aquacolor Face paint. Scar wax for receding hairline.

Super Buu by Bio Cosplay
The head was patterned using aluminum foil and duct tape. The patterns were then transferred to 4mm eva foam. This was assembled using contact cement and more details were added with foam clay.
The gauntlets, belt, and ankle pieces were also made using this method. All those pieces were then coated in flexbond and painted with Angelus leather paint using an airbrush.
Buckram was glued in with hotglue for the eyes before painting on the red eyes.
The Muscle suit was made by carving and gluing upholstery foam to a spandex shirt with foam fast 74. The base structure of the hands was a pair of thick leather gloves which also had upholstery foam glued to it. These were then covered in spandex. eva foam nails were added to the hands. It was then coated in creature cast rubber sprayed through a critter gun. Then painted with angelus leather paints using an airbrush.
For the shoes I made a pointed structure with eva foam to slip over the toe a pair of sneakers. Then a stretch faux suede sock was sewn to slip over that.
The pants are harem pants I purchased since they were cheaper than the fabric would have been.
Here is a short video of me putting on the costume -

I also have 11 videos which document the the whole process of creating the costume - https://www.youtube.com/biocosplay
Some are more of a vlog format, but some lean more towards a tutorial such as this on on how I made the muscle suit -

The Working Dead - The first mask that I ever created
It took me awhile to compile all of the materials and tools, I ended up making my own easel, as I could not find quite what I needed. I am super happy with the results! This is the first iteration of what I am sure will be many different masks that I will make using this technique. I really enjoyed the class and plan to take more very soon!
This mask was inspired by my time spent working in middle management as a salaried employee in the hotel industry. That job really sucked the life out of me. I felt like I wasn't even alive. I felt like... The Working Dead
Here is a link to a video short of the mask in action:
