The Working Dead - The first mask that I ever created
I know this has no real chance of winning. I just wanted to the share my first mask. I created it after watching the Learn to make an articulated mask on a budget class on the Stan Winston site by Patrick Magee.
It took me awhile to compile all of the materials and tools, I ended up making my own easel, as I could not find quite what I needed. I am super happy with the results! This is the first iteration of what I am sure will be many different masks that I will make using this technique. I really enjoyed the class and plan to take more very soon!
This mask was inspired by my time spent working in middle management as a salaried employee in the hotel industry. That job really sucked the life out of me. I felt like I wasn't even alive. I felt like... The Working Dead
Here is a link to a video short of the mask in action:

Mars Attacks, The Martian Ambassador

The eyes needed to be removable so I could drive. I used store bought ping pong balls, cut holes in them, covered the holes with circles I cut out of an old pair of sunglasses, and then painted. I added magnets in the eyes and in the appliance eye socket so they would stay in place.
The green body suit was store bought and I painted the ridges/stripes on it. The cloak I made from fabric, foam, and wire I bought at a craft store.
Lastly, I made a purse (since I had no pockets to hold my phone or ID) out of a chihuahua stuffed animal (head removed), styrofoam craft head, and wig. I had a lot of fun making this costume! Thanks for looking🎃

Back story
Back story

My son was having trouble making friends at school until he discovered Pokémon card trading at recess. He finally started making friends! But then due to COVID restrictions kids were not permitted to share cards anymore. So I made him a vending machine costume that dispenses cards for him to give away at school.
The fly movie inspired costume
I got inspired by the movie The fly but tried to make an original design, here are some pictures of the final costume and the process.

Medusa Design
I’ve always been fascinated by the story of Medusa and so I wanted to create my own version of her. I didn’t want to follow the typical green design. I aimed for a colder, unsaturated appearance.

Teen Wolf-esque Werewolf
Creating this makeup was a childhood dream of mine. Now being in the industry with the required skills, I can now be the werewolf that my 8 year old self always wanted to be! 😅

T H E F U N H O U S E
My halloween costume this year is my original design based on the idea of a funhouse/carnival monster. I was inspired by Rick Baker's work in Tobe Hooper's 1981 film "The Funhouse". I designed this mask on Z-Brush, 3D scanned my model and sculpted my design in Le Beau Touche clay on my 3D printed bust. I created a fibreglass mould and ran my mask in silicone with a soft foam inner. I then finished my mask by painting, hair punching and making a 3D printed eye. This mask was my final project of my Masters Degree at Falmouth University with Neill Gorton.
