Here are some design images of the female werewolf character I am plugging away at. Some important notes: My finished puppet will have more clothing (and possibly less fur), mainly because of fur chatter concerns. I'm just not sure exactly what that clothing will look like yet. Second, yes I am going to attempt a transformation sequence, if I have time. I will of course finish the werewolf puppet first, just in case, and then I will fabricate the replacement heads and hands etc. Lastly, it is important to note that these designs were started by an artist named Dirk Tiede and used/cleaned up/plussed/detailed by me with permission.

Hi Melanie,
Cool character.
I didn't go over in too much detail how to construct light weight body blocks.
Here's a hand out sheet sowing the procedure.
It takes styrofoam, tin foil and epoxy putty.

Hi Guys,

Tough week for me. Between work and this stop motion learning process it's been crazy for me...

I made a puppet. Well, actually I tried, because I couldn't finish it. I'm still missing the rubber latex. It is official: there is no latex in Venezuela!!! I got that from several stores that used to sell it and they have told me that they haven't sold any latex since last year... So, I decided to buy it online from the US and it will arrive here in 3 weeks.

I've found several problems with my puppet: The head is to heavy, the sculpey that I used leaves imperfeccions in the head, the shoes should not be made out of clay, it bounces because of the heavy head. But the idea with this puppet is to put several clay lips with different shapes for lipsing...(that's why it doesn't have any mouth)...

But still I have to make three more puppets, so... I will try to avoid those problems next time.

I'm attaching some pictures of the process.

My apologies, I was not able to complete the puppet in time. Still waiting for a few supply orders to arrive, so I had to use less desirable materials or have nothing at all to show... I've gotten as far as starting to block out the character's form and wiring a few things onto the head.

Going to have to play catch-up.

My puppet is getting there. almost all foamed and latex. Going to try to get some work done before the class tomorrow, so I'll wait until then to post pictures.

Hi, here is what I finished so far. I can't find L200 foam, rubber latex & same type of paint in my location. So I use melamine sponge, normal latex & I think I will use acrylic paint. I don't want to order from oversea also, have to keep budget low. Very tough to use the foam sculpt technic, the foam didn't really look like skin.

Hi, here is my finished puppet. Sorry that I'm not be able to attend the live course because it's quite late in my location, hope Stephen, Charles & Edward don't mind. And this workshop getting too costly for me (included course fee). It's hit budget cap for me, possible will do simple back drop screen for animation.

Banya, the techniques and setting we're showing in the class is to show some of the different possibilities. Use your own creativity and utilize as much or as little of the information we've provided to make it your own.The puppet looks fun.

Much more hand-sewing than I had anticipated, but here she is. Blocking out the sets using cannibalized remnants of work from a few semesters back, and a whole lot of expanding foam sealant.

Hey all, I just got back into town, so I am WAY behind, but I am going to do the best I can. I actually have a stage build from a previous shoot I am going to cannibalize, which will help. Just need to create the proper backdrop. My puppet is not finished, though. Fortunately, the situation that pulled me out-of-town is resolved now, so I can concentrate on this.
