Flotsam and Jetsam puppets
I created these eel puppets for my local children's theater production of The Little Mermaid. The heads were each carved from a single block of foam utilizing techniques learned from the Ted Haines SWSCA workshop. The performers would articulate the puppet by placing their hands through an opening in the belly up to the head to articulate the mouth. With both arms fully extended the eels would have swimming like motion. I also added blinking electroluminescent wires along the backs to give the puppets an electric eel look. Each puppet is about 7.5 feet long. Thanks for looking!
