Humanoid Creature Bust, Third Eye - Entry 2
This original piece is sculpted in polymer clay over a wire, foil and
apoxie core. She's not finished either but I wanted to share her anyway. (The lighter clay is flexible so I use it on more delicate areas that need it. It doesn't show when it's painted and usually enhances the effect.) 
I usually begin my creatures without a complete concept -- I just gather some foil, wire and various clays and start sculpting. I let the piece guide me and tell me its story. It's a challenging process, but very rewarding. Most of my creatures are from another time.. .beings or protectors that are born from the earth and pieced together through its fragments.Â
This creature is still in a metamorphosis stage. She's slowly emerging from the earth. Her limbs are forming from a broken land mass that's now becoming her new body. Healing crystals and geodes are breaking through her skin; they will always be part of her. They emanate life, light, and power.
She's a protector of the planet and the world sculpted on her back.
