I've seen the practical and now I think that I would rather have the Thing be done using computers. If anything I would expect the same technique used for the Hulk where the actor has many dots placed on him that several cameras then track and people use that for the Hulk expressions to match. I'm using regular upholstery foam for my project. I did some test for sealing it and tried Plasti dip spray. I used two coats and then used spray paint for a base color. I didn't notice any difference between the two. Maybe this is because the foam is just too porous.

Were you planning to make this out of upholstery foam? I'm working on my own foam suit and I thought to jump on the forums to see if I can learn anything. I hope your work is coming along smoothly.
