  • Hi James, we are putting a test call out for Camera/G&E Crew, Art Department Artists, Craftsmen, and Technicians local to Jersey, Pennsylvania, and N.Y., to get an idea of who's in the area, but I hope all is well with you down there with the floods and hurricanes abounding often.
  • Hi Riham, oh by all means no, I'm not asking you to move from your hometown. I just wanted to see who's local to us at Imagination Workshop Studio. And a warm hello fellow artist, from me in Jersey to you in Egypt! 👋
  • Well, one must start somewhere, right? Better now than never because it is a lifelong pursuit. Hi everyone, my name is Tommy, I'm a Director, Producer, Screenwriter, A/V Scriptwriter, but my main bread'n'butter work is in the Art Department of one of my parent company's divisions, Imagination Workshop Studio, where I am…
  • First attempt? That's pretty good. Great job!
  • Er? Wait? My mistake, that's one of the characters on a favorite 1970s-1980s picture of mine based on the Stephen King novel, about Ben Mears (David Soul). The Television Mini-Series SALEM'S LOT (1979)!
  • Everything else on ol' Nosferatu looks about right. Great job!
  • The clavicles look too pronounced or rigid. Smooth them down with a tool and your finger. Until they just about blend smoothly to the skin of chest. Study photographs or magazines of people or even look at yourself in the mirror. Anatomy is extremely important in this business. Even if you are creating a Character that is…
  • Wow, that must've been a lot of research by pausing the DVD and blowing up and printing out the shots plus thumbing through many Fangoria and other movie magazines? Great job! The details look accurate enough. The (1982) version is the best besides the (1951) picture.
  • It does function and in fact it is practically brand new. I just do not know how to operate it. But, I took the liberty of Photographing the instruction manual for you and all to see.
  • Thank you Chris. As always, SWSCA is the authority on ALL Special Effects and Character Creation and anything in Art Department and Film Production related. You're all the best!
  • Well, Alexander, that's good that you're curious and you are correct in that the real thing would be easier and less costly, but before you jump into solutions for this problem you should question whether or not this project will be on a film. If it is, which it will be, as a Production Designer and Special Visual Effects…
  • I like how you mashed together different courses or techniques. And that monster or creature character reminds me of two movies from the early 1980s. One is TERRORVISION (1986), and the other is BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA (1986). Two great movies from a great time period in Cinema!
  • Wow! That is incredibly lifelike! That quality almost matches that of The Jim Henson Studio? Really sells, the suspension of disbelief is there I'll tell ya, if they were to do a sequel today for Jim Henson's The Christmas Toy (1986), you'd be hired on the spot. Good job! 👏👍
  • These photographs show jobs of Characters that have ear mechanisms and some tentacle mechanisms. Study them. I think the one ear on Sloth on GOONIES (1985) moves like most of the others, with the aid of "paddles" connected to cables or servos controlled by radio transmitters. My only advice is to experiment a little,…
  • Hi Chris, Thank you, well although the majority of studios or shops these days seem to be housing CNC and/or Laser Cutting machines, and every new toy that comes out of production, my company's division IWS hasn't anything like 'em yet. Just good ol' fashion equipment, tools, and supplies and techniques used for…
  • Thank you Matt! I knew I could count on you. And Thank Ian for me! You have most assuredly answered my questions to the letter. I am grateful for SWSCA and all Masters of Character Creation and Cibema such as Ian. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! 👏🤝
  • I think this particular one is from the 1950s? It's actually my Mother's and before her was my Grandmother's. Oh yes I remember that saying. It does function. I'll see if I can get it again sometime and film a small demonstration video?
  • Thanks Chris! I don't know? I'll check the Still Photography archives at DreamFactory Entertainment. Thousands of photographs, slides and negatives and now digital files. That was between 2007 or 2013 but I first advertised this in 2021 as you can see on the bottom of the screenshot.
  • Thank you Chris! Very flattered you think so. Wow, we hope so as well. The picture has been in Development Hell for a long time since 2017. Haven't had any investors bite since for some reason? We let the capital slip through our fingers once but we're not going to let that happen again if we are fortunate to have the…
  • Hi Matt. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to help me. I'd figure as much, well, Thanks for passing along my question to Ian. Now I wait patiently for his answer hopefully if he would be so gracious. Once again, Matt, Thank you. SWSCA are #MastersofCharacterCreation
  • These are Concept Designs of a few of the Creature Characters in a 20 minute Fantasy/Horror short film proof of concept that has been in Development Hell since 2017. LUNCH is the working title and the release title will be made public in Post. Our parent company's production company division is waiting on investors. The…
  • Do Creature Character Concept Designs and Sketches for a Fantasy/Horror short film proof of concept count?
  • ALL right! #KeepModelsandMiniatureEffectsAlive ! 👏🤝👍
  • 👏🤝 Ray was a Master Storyteller. I still love watching his 1980s Science Fiction television series THE RAY BRADBURY THEATER!
  • I'm curious, but is this the exact shot you are referring to?
  • Great job. How did the short film turn out? Was it put into production or is it in Development Hell? We were designing concepts for creatures then we got the word that the film's budget went south and we had to shelf all the designs until we receive the green light again. It hurts but it happens more often than we'd like.
  • I don't see anything here but I've seen your traditional sculptures and you are incredible. Do you still sculpt with clay these days, Glauco?
  • Everything or every tool and equipment and supplies available to do any job or anything thought up and 1 million + square footage of workshop space and soundstage. Dream for IWS. But it is getting more and more difficult to find a gang or crew of Artists, Craftsmen/Craftswomen, Technicians that are passionate and motivated…
  • And yes, Latex does stick to Latex but you can use Pros-Aide too. For PETG / PLA I'm not sure because we do not 3D Print only traditional by hand sculpting, building, fabrication, etc.
  • Not sure if anyone posted this yet but this is just one of the supplies we purchase/buy and use for sealing clay prior to molding. The industry is constantly innovative and discovering other wats or techniques to work but we usually stick with what's best and works. But our R&D Department does coordinate with the shop to…
