Tried out the arms today: need some adjustment to keep the armpits from hitting and control waldos closer together but not much else.

Some detail work in a nice little gif to show off the sense of scale: Should be doing a full systems testrun (arms, movement, camera system) in the next few days.

That's the idea. Been talking a bit with Megabots, too! A sort of build video of an overhaul to the ankles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BV7Hu_GS5tA

As MARDUK nears completion, I've started giving thought to a 2nd mech... Mechanically identical (or nearly so), but the paneling made of fiberglass instead of aluminum flashing. Design has a bit of a greco roman feel referring to TALOS, the giant mechanical man who roamed around Crete protecting it from invaders. Started…

First test run! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmFbKWelblc Things are a little loose and need some adjustment, so I'm taking a break and will be tightening things up come the new year.

It depends what sort of functionality you're looking for. These on amazon are fairly easy to use: holds up to 120 seconds of sound, playing only a single sound on a button press. Other devices on amazon may have different functionality (search for a "sound chip module). My brother found it easy to use and he is a beginner…

Working on 3d model of the general base shape: (Base shape on the left, original game model on the right) Meanwhile getting a motorized (snow blower…

Lost my password for a while and couldn't figure out how to get back in XD A time lapse of the armor setup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzuLcejM-nw Also took out the arm mechanism so I have a lighter (commercial?) armor variant that makes it easier for me to show off at conventions & stuff.…

So... made some promo material: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBJ1Tmutyzg

So the entire thing is roughly together and on display at the local makerspace. I need to build a winch arm for the stasis dock and complete the armor so I can try it on. Plus the compound lever for the shoulder mechanism is too weak to do much, so it needs to be totally rebuilt.
