Yeah, I think it's the big missing piece of the puzzle on here! Thanks Chris

Thank you guys! Also I leave you here with a small trailer I made: I made a Thor inspired Lightsaber and this is the result - YouTube

Well well well! I just finished taking pictures of the whole thing. No brush was used to paint this prop. I used an airbrush, 2K clear, Alclad paints and acrylics, scotch brite, a drill, cuetips... I also 3D modelled custom masking tools because I didnt want to use masking tape, hate it! I also think that this technique is…

Hi Chris, I will definitely let you know how it goes. I have never used real leather but it would be cool. Or even a sci fi textured faux leather on the non-textured pieces!

Thank you so much Castagné! I appreciate it

Hi again! I'm going to leave a few pictures here of the finished sleeves. I sewed the straps so it would be easy to put them on / off. I entered for the Halloween contest this year! What an amazing year for creations!

What I'm trying to figure out now is how to invert the shines. I want the black areas to be matte, and the silver areas to be shinier. Maybe instead of airbrushing or brushing on the naptha with black oil pait and the silicone, I can airbrush a layer of glue all over the surface, getting in all the cracks, and then dust…

Hi Chris! Thank you so much for the answer and the feedback from Jamie. I'm not gonna lie, I've been obsessed with the Thor scale armor since I saw Thor 1. For 10 years I've been thinking of an easy and accurate way to make them. I think it was going bad because the test piece was old, even though I cleaned it (another…

Thanks Chris, I think I'm going to have to go for the Pearl Ex pigments for platinum silicone. But I am going to try to use urethane as well. What I'm making is the Thor sleeves. I came up with a great idea for them, in fact, one of the best ideas I have ever had. No seams, no need to make molds, accurate, flexible, and…

Thanks a lot guys! Here are the renders I took. They are not textured, I just wanted the pieces to be of a solid colour for easier understanding. Testing all the different effects was so fun! And prototyping the mechanism taught me so much, I ended up having over 20 different versions with slight differences around the…

Hi Chris, thank you for the fast answer. Edit: I think I might have open the thread on the wrong category. Could we move it where it fits best? Yeah I agree 100%, it is so tricky. I come from the videogame world so I'm so used to having different shines and textures and I want to replicate that! I won't stop until I…
