Hey Nathan/ Ashy,
that Mask looks very nice, well done ;-)
There is a product called psycho paint by Smooth On. It isnt the cheapest, but the less- toxiest i think.
I havent paint with that yet,…
Hey Oso :-)
I think its a matter of the materials which are used for the appliance, how good the appliance and its edges are sculpted, which glue was used, how much time the makeup artist had to apply and such things.
Here at SWSCA are some great …
Hey Ashley :-)
I searched for some pictures of your subscribed medusa.
If i would do that project, i would sculpt the whole mask over your wifes livecast, separate the snakes and doing molds of them.
Also a core mold from the mask and cast that …
Hey Tanuki :-)
You could make 4 batches with 80g a and 100g b (4 x 180g= 720g) or 320g a and 400g b and you have an overflow of about 20 grams.
I think you can live with that overflow. Its better than headache while throwing away the calculator, …
Hey Erik :-)
I would try to heat up the surface of the mold by using a hairdryer so that the monsterclay becomes soft and maybe the mold will get off easily.
If the sucktion is so great, that the mold cant come off, i would gently drill some 1-2 …
Thank you Chris [=
Edit: The Protrusion on the nose is a cutting tooth, which clamps and cuts the meat between the lower eyeteeth. It has no separated nose, but rather a sense organ like the temperature holes like a snake xD
That looks better and better, Jason ;-)
Keep on practice sculpting. Everytime to the "no fine details- stage" and then the next project. Thats the right way, how you are doing that. Only the primary and secondary forms- getting the right shape is …
you could try the Tim Gore- mixture with simple clear silicone from the hardwarestore, mixed "mega well" with (up to) maybe 500% naphta.
I use that mixture, coloured with simple cheap oilpaints, to paint everything what cant be painted w…
i have tested 1 part silicone from the hardwarestore, thinned with 4-5 parts of "waschbenzin" which should be almost the same like white spirit or naptha.(mixed with a fork, very very good and by adding small amounts of white spirit f…
Welcome Freddy :-)
Nice work :-) Especially the Mummy, really cool ;-)
I can imagine, that its difficult to make those things. Ive never try that and i wont try that in future, because it wouldnt be mine without sculpting and i would drive crazy x…
I like such small Details, which breathe a "crafted" animal or creature life in. So the nose is very convincing and translucent, also the eyes are, too.
Not to speak about the anatomy and furwork,.. I love that leopard :-)
Very great :…
No problem Andrea :-)
Thats a very good class too. My opinion is, that there arent so many basic contents and its more about making miniatures.
If i would create a rank of these two classes, i would say 1. anatomy class, 2. miniature class.
for sculpting human heads, i highly recommend the Jordu Schell class
His class gives a very, very important basic fundament of human head anatomy and proporti…
Hey Hayley :-)
Thats a nice sculpture ;-)
Are you going to cast resin in your mold? I think it should be the best way to make a one- part Silicone mold, when the sculpture isnt really big.
Build up a wooden mold box, which is 4-5 cm away from your…
