Hi, I have a problem with finding a materials to use for my casting. I have done a silicone mould and fiberglass jacket(case) I am making a Venus fly trap that moves, the head is separate to the body, together the sculpture is around 160cm in height. The top jaw will shut down to the bottom jaw and only the top jaw is what will move. It is quite big 75cm in length and inside it is about 15-20cm in thickness, a lot more thicker where the neck of the sculpture is. The top jaw of course has to be very lightweight to support the mechanism. the lighter the better. There has to be a skeleton wire frame inside the top jaw to help bring the top jaw down. I have been experimenting using foam but it is way too heavy. I now have moved on to other ideas such as using a P2A silicone coasted ripstop nylon material which I'm not sure about yet nor how I can bond it well with silicone or even a lighter weight 010 soft foam, though my budget is quite low I can't afford many experiments. The mould I have is made from rubber silicone and I know that silicone on silicone sticks to itself so I'm a bit cautious when using the same material unless there is a way to make it work with a good release agent. I also need a material that will not tear when I place the wire inside for fear that foam will get torn by constant movement. I suppose the wire skeleton has to be sandwiched into the fabric and the other material I am now looking for. What is the best way to do this. I am very stuck and I do not get much help at my university to finish my sculpture.  best wishes! Judith
