Juan Caparas

Hello, I am Juan, a 3D Artist working in the VFX industries. I started out as a traditional artist for many years and then later on upgrading myself to a full on digital artist after moving to Los Angeles studying Visual Effects in the Art Institute of Santa Monica. Mask making right now may only be just my personal hobby at home but it still serves a big part of my life as it became the stepping stones to who I am today as a person and artist. Here is Freakshow VII, a full head silicone mask that I created for myself back in 2013.  

Freakshow is an ambiguous metaphorical entity of myself that lives within my mind. It is neither a guardian angel or an evil demon, in fact it is entirely up to you to decide on what Freakshow is based off of what you see in my short films as I designed it to be open for interpretation. Freakshow's depiction in my short films is a creature that serves as my mentor in life as I grow older.
