What would cause the paint to spray like this?

I'm wondering what would cause the paint to stipple like this when sprayed, bad needle, too much reducer... not enough?

I'm using Createx Wicked airbrush color which should be good to go right out of the bottle, but I had added about 25% reducer

figured it out, likely reaction to the paint\clear coat I had underneath. I stripped it and tried it with just primer and sprayed with the same batch and it came out smooth.

I actually like the texture of the stipple "accident"  I would work on getting that effect to be controllable. I used to get a similar effect with unmodified createx paints, and too low of an air pressure.
