Painting latex mask with skin illustrator?

hi there, I’m a big fan of the 2018 Halloween film and Repaint the Michael Myers masks from the film which are directly from the master. I have been using a latex based paint called nightshades The masks have so much detail sculpted into them, so I base it out with a dark soot colour then I dry brush over it in an off white colour. Problem is these latex based paints are hard to work with they dry so fast and it can become almost impossible to avoid small balls of dry paint making their way to my masterpiece! They make the mask bumpy and ruff which I hate! I suspect Creator of the mask, Christopher Nelson used skin illustrator to paint the mask as I can see them near him when he was working on them. I use skin illustrator on areas of the mask anyway but Could I use them on the hole mask and then seal it?
