Paula Golem (Monster Making Contest Submission)
This is my most recent sculpture of a creature I built of my Mother Paula. Using my family as a platform, I have created symbolic representations of family members out of industrial materials. Fusing my passions of science fiction, natural history and industrial design, I seek to develop new work that melds these techniques and themes. Stan Winston's studio has inspired me to take my background in special effects makeup and fabrication to art installations and hopefully one day -films and rock concerts.
The sculpture is made from: Steel, wood, cardboard, joint compound, acrylic paints, plexiglass, magic sculpt, silicone, Arduino, servos, EVA foam, and custom hardware. 2018. For more information checkout:
