Major Kolvayev from Nikolai Gogol's "The Nose"

Major Kolvayev is a bunraku-style puppet created by Mike Kelly for Inkifish's production of Nikolai Gogol's "The Nose" He is operated by two puppeteers in black. He is constructed of papier maiche, wood and pvc. His nose is held in place by powerful magnets allowing for it to be removed and then reattached at key moments in the performance.
