What make ups do you use for your creatures?

I have never used make up before. I have gained interest in making characters with different color, and face applications.

The problem is when trying something new you have to see what works best for you with trial and error. I want to limit that trail and error period by taking suggestions, and learning from others experiences. I do not want to waste money on sub-par products, but would like to be thrifty if possible.

What are your experiences with the make ups?

What make ups have the best coverage/ go on even?

Are translucent powders needed to keep it from looking glossy?

Are sealers a necessity?
