Velociraptor Portrait

This is a portrait I did showcasing the ferocious velociraptor.  Normally you would see them in a jungle or a tropical environment but in reality, they lived in hot, dry areas which is why I put him in an desert.  Also, I wanted to break the barrier of portraits but creating the illusion that the raptor is stepping into reality.  This can also be seen by the style that the raptor and the environment is drawn in.  The background is a graphic-style and the raptor is more of a realistic take, separating the portrait world and the real world.

The piece was first hand-drawn, then transferred into Photoshop for coloring and additional details.
