Zed - Silicone zombie puppet for Frank & Zed
This here is Zed. He's been a real tough bugger to create.
We started on him a year ago. Creating the under skull and then sculpting on top of that.
We really want to bring him to life as he gobbles up brains so his eyes move, his teeth all wiggle, and he's got a tongue. He also likes to pick and eat his own brain so his head is mostly empty.
Filming has been a blast. We're about 30% done but we've still got a long ways to go. Really looking forward to the big finale when our two guys duke it out with the village 'cause when everyone is a puppet, you can really pile on the gore.
I don't know where we'd be without the tutorials. When we started we didn't even know what a 'case line' was let alone how to find it. We had experience sculpting but that is really only the beginning of bringing these guys to life. This stuff is so much work when you know what you're doing, it's fun, rewarding, challenging, but if we didn't know the basic techniques it would be defeating. We've been getting top-notch results in our garage just by putting in the time. We're really grateful.
