Baan

Bo Moore

Another creature designed for a worldbuilding project set on Mars. The baan is a large single-minded carnivore that digs itself underground in the desert and waits for prey to pass before leaping out. It has very poor eyesight but finds prey through heat sensors on the side of its head, along with a keen sense of smell. Mutations can lead to more than six limbs, although they often do not survive into adulthood. If you get it drunk and you have a death wish you can even attempt to ride it.
